1 Powerful Notecard

What do you think a notecard is worth? I have realized through personal experience that a single notecard can be very powerful. I highly suggest you go out and get a few hundred and start using them, it was part of my goals/changes for 2009 (not resolutions-they always fade away). Tip #2 make a schedule and stick to it, all extremely successful people follow a schedule-it's that simple. Here are a few extremely effective and practical uses for a notecard.

-Put your goals on them and read them daily in your car/on your bathroom mirror

-Make a schedule for the week or day and stick to it--> it should take a tornado to knock you off your schedule

-Memorize some of your favorite verses from a notecard

-make a shopping list so you do not buy extra junk food

-write out your favorite workouts then go have a great workout

-Put your personal commitment statement or purpose statement on a notecard, here are a few as examples "I am a worthy, open, honest, committed man" or "my purpose in life is to help others and to have them realize their potential is limitless"

***Please leave a comment for others to benefit from with your favorite notecard uses :)

Are you going to FINISH STRONG????

I have never heard of this man before but this message, but it's very humbling. It makes me realize i have so much and others have so little. His message is simple, GET BACK UP. Our society as a whole does not like to commit to anything. This quote "you only fail when you stop trying" goes well with the message. Think positive and make 2009 the year you look back on and say-->everything started to change in 2009. Check out his website below the video link

Practical Tips to Becoming a Healthier Person #2

Round #2 of practical tips to becoming a healthier person. If you missed #1 make sure to go back and check it out, some very good nuggets to apply to your life.

#1 Cut back or possibly eliminate news for a period of time (try 2 weeks). 99% of things reported are negative. ONLY positive or negative energy is given off by people and things in your life. If you its not a definitive positive, it's negative by default. You are what you consume and what you let in your "inner circle".

#2 Read/listen to audios. Successful people are always learning and most of them are physically fit. When was the last time you saw an overweight/out of shape president? There are unlimited resources for personal growth, but here are a few who i personally think are amazing teachers and successful people. I have been blessed to have met them all.

Lance Wallnau http://lancelearning.com/

Bob Harrison "Dr. Increase" http://www.increase.org/

#3 Nutrition is simple, but we complicate it. It comes down to only 2 things: #1 quality and #2 quality. It's common sense. Eat strong and healthy natural foods that are found on the outside of the grocery story. "I don't know what to eat" is the weakest excuse in the book.

#4 Google phrases like "top 10 food lists" or "top 10 protein sources" or "health eating tips" and make yourself an excel spreadsheet of strong healthy foods. If you feel clean and light after a meal your on the right track. You should be able to go for a walk 30 minutes after a meal. If not lets make some healthier choices!!!!

# 5 ***Every single event that occurs in your life is neutral. Stress is our perception of a situation, and stress is 100% created through preception. Am i saying you should never have stress again? No, but we can eliminate most of our stress by increasing our self-awareness. If 2 people could have the exact same day and one says it stressful and the other doesn't who's right? They both are because it's a personal perception of the days events. Think about what stresses you out and ask yourself if it's worth the wasted energy and lack of sleep? I bet not!!!!

If you don't take care of yourself you might end up looking like this guy :)

The UGLY Truth about High Fructose Corn Syrup

So is high froctose corn syrup really that bad for you? does it make you fat? There is a lot of talk about it right now, and this short article will give you the facts. Does it make you directly fat-NO-but yes in a way. After consumption your body releases less insulin and leptin, these 2 hormones tell you "im getting full-stop eating." If they are not released like usual you will overconsume foods and you will gain weight or body fat. I do not expect anyone to cut it out 100% but try and limit as much as possible.

New Year Resolutions=Fad Diets

The new years brings the best out of people in regards to dreaming and thinking big. But in only a matter of days their actions do not replicate those dreams. Actions are very powerful and words means very little in today's quick fix/lazy society.

The #1 New Years resolution is to lose weight and get into better shape. As a pesonal trainer I see a massive increase in memberships after the new years. Most of those new members want quick results and do not have the long term goal of true health and vitality. Most are strangers in the gym in a matter of a few months.

Fad Diets have been around for a long time. Low carb and the atkins diet are probably some of the unhealthiest "diets" that can be followed. The key to long term consistent health and vitality is balance between all 3 macronutrients: carbs, fats, proteins. Please read this short article on fad diets and leave some feedback on my website or contact me with your questions.

What is Christmas all about?

What is Christmas all about? Some believe in Jesus and the gift that he gave. If you are not a religious person i believe that you should count and appreciate the blessings you have each and every day. The video states

"more than 2 billion people can not read" WOW

I often see others (including myself) how selfish we are and how we don't realize how much we have. I have personally seen people in West Virginia and Mexico who have nothing yet they can have a happy and fulfulling life, WHY? Because they choose their attitude every single day, and we live our life according to the attitude we wake up with each morning. Your attitude is the most important thing you can control. Have a humbling and blessed Christmas.

Practical Tips to Becoming a Healthier Person #1

There are so many different solutions on how to have a balanced life and staying healthy. If you do not believe me pick up a magazine next time you are in line at the grocery store. Everyone seems to have all these "secrets" but are there really secrets? I don't think so, it usually comes down to common sense and a little discipline.

Here is a list of things to try, i ask that you "test me" and i will not assume you will just trust me that they work. Truly put them to the test and see if your life improves, these have made a dramtic improvement in my life. If they work, don't stop using them!

#1 Easily #1 SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE Reduce the clutter in all areas of your life. Take 2 minutes and walk around your home to see how many extra things are in the way or just sitting around. Show them who's boss and throw them in the trash or donate them to someone who in truly in need of them . When you finish the house move to another area of your life and clean that up.

#2 Avoid the obvious ones hazards like smoking, excessive drinking, lack of sleep, not drinking enough water, sitting/lack of movement. Makre sure to laughing daily and taking "me" time each day.

#3 Use the 2 minute venting rule-if someone wants to complain to you find a clock and tell them you have 2 minutes. Any more time than that and you are both doing a disservice to each other.

#4 Stress-reduce unneeded stress through meditation, prayer or relaxation techniques. There are all sorts of techniques so find what works best for you. Proverbs are great to meditate on (Proverbs 27:19 "As water reflects a face, so a man's heart reflects the man" What are the true desires of your heart? Are they selfish and always about yourself or helping others?) One last thought to leave you with.
